It has been over forty years since any archeological dig was done at Stonehenge in the UK. The current dig has provided important information.  In addition to the new information, this dig can help students understand how tentative and partial our archeological understanding is.  Any archeological understanding is always open to further interpretation and understanding based on the collection of additional artifacts and data.
