In recognition of the Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016 , Paoli Community School Corporation is sponsoring Discovery Fest 2016.

All of us are at HOME in Indiana. Whether we live in rural, suburban or an urban area, Indiana is our HOME - the home we choose to celebrate and ignite for future generations! How can we ignite and improve our hometown, city, county or state? How can we use technology to identify improvements needed and what solutions might be considered? As the Voices of the Future , Indiana students in grades K-12 are invited to ask and answer these important questions in creative and innovative ways through:

  1. The use technology to discover a problem or idea (research, observe, interactive survey, photograph, video, etc.)
  2.  The use technology to communicate a problem or idea (infographics, blogs, podcasts, videocast, interactive slide presentations, etc.)
  3. The use technology to help solve a problem or put an idea into action (web app, mobile app, website, social media solution, digital improvement of existing item, QR codes, etc.

Discovery Fest 2016 will accept project submissions from K-12 students enrolled in public schools and nonpublic schools. “Plans for participation” are being accepted now at the link below and the plans may be submitted until February 1, 2016 . Projects may then be submitted online through March 4, 2016 .

All submitted projects will be assessed and scores will be provided. Students with top-rated projects may be invited to present at an eLearning conference in the Summer of 2016!
